In Israel today, there are scores of widows and orphans who cannot meet their daily costs of living. When an unexpected expense crops up, the situation becomes truly dire. The needs are numerous: food, clothing, home repairs, dental and doctor fees, pharmaceuticals, tefillin for bar mitzvah boys, textbooks for schoolgirls, and more. With the loss of the primary breadwinner comes the loss of funds to cover these expenses.

We assist widows and orphans throughout the year, and offer additional substantial support during the holidays or when unforeseen expenses crop up. At this time, our fund’s roster includes 489 widows and 3,421 orphans, whom we have helped with 1.4 million dollars during the holiday season alone.
